Welcome to our skiing adventure! This time, we’ll explore Mount Hakuba in Hakuba Village, Nagano Prefecture.
Situated in the Northern Alps, the summit reaches 2936m. The route includes a challenging section with heavy snowfields, rockfall, and steep slopes. Therefore, from January to March, there’s a risk of avalanches.
As there’s no ski resort, you’ll have to hike from the parking lot. The parking lot is at an elevation of 1200m, so be prepared for a significant ascent.
Recommended periods:
- Powder Snow Season: January to March
(Note: Avalanche risk during this period) - Off-Season Skiing: April to June
(Stable snow conditions, but watch out for rockfall)
April is highly recommended as the snow is stable, reducing risks.
