Planning to climb Mt. Fuji from the Fujinomiya trail? Here’s everything you need to know!

① How to Prepare Climbing Gear

✨ We recommend using a rental service like “Yamarent”

✅ Offers Mt. Fuji-specific gear rental sets

✅ Climbing boots should be 1cm larger than your regular size

 ※ Bringing thick socks helps adjust fit and comfort

✅ The Fujinomiya 5th Station is very crowded — it’s better to ship your gear in advance to your hotel

② How to Access Fujinomiya 5th Station

1)From Mishima Station (Tokaido Shinkansen)

 Direct bus: About 2h 10min / ¥2,400

2)From Shin-Fuji Station (Tokaido Shinkansen)

 Direct bus: About 2h / ¥2,500

③ Relax After Climbing – Hot Springs Nearby

Recommended onsen: Hananoyu (花の湯)

Located in Fujinomiya City.

Mild and relaxing water – perfect for recovery after climbing!

④ How to Get to the Yoshida Area

From Tokyo, take a highway bus or the JR Chuo Line.

Then transfer to Mt. Fuji Station or Kawaguchiko Station — easy access to the Yoshida Trail.

Example Bus Schedule (Shin-Fuji → Mt. Fuji area):

• Shin-Fuji Station: 12:05 / 14:05

• Fujinomiya Station: 12:40 / 14:40

• Kawaguchiko Station: 14:22 / 16:22

• Fujikyu Highland: 14:26 / 16:26

• Mt. Fuji Station: 14:30 / 16:30

⑤ About Coin Lockers at Fujinomiya 5th Station

✅ The rest area is small and very crowded — coin lockers are often unavailable, so prepare accordingly.

✅ For large luggage, store it on the bus or leave it at Hananoyu Onsen.

✅ Food options are very limited at the 5th Station — buy your meals in town beforehand.

✅ Drinking water is expensive — it’s better to bring your own water from the start.
