Route Guide (Condensed)
This 5-day hike can be shortened to 3 nights, with an extra day for weather. Buna-Tate Ridge is steep but well-maintained—start slowly. After Fudozawa Tunnel, reach the trailhead via a campsite. The steep trail passes Gonta-Otoshi Rock, enters a coniferous forest, and reaches the ridgeline where you’ll stay at Eboshi Hut.
The next day, head to Mt. Noguchi-Goro and continue to Mt. Suisho with excellent views. From Warimo North Junction, climb Mt. Washiba, then descend to Mita Sansou and on to Mt. Sugoroku.
Finally, follow Nishi-Kama Ridge to Mt. Yari, being cautious on the rock ridge. After reaching Yari Sansou, consider summiting Mt. Yari for 360-degree views. On the last day, descend to Kamikochi via Tengu Hara.
